Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club has several experienced NRA certified instructors on staff that regularly teach classes at our range in Clatskanie, Oregon. Whether you are looking for classes covering basic home firearm safety to advanced tactical pistol training, our instructors have the experience to meet your needs in a safe and positive learning environment. INTRO TO OREGON CONCEALED CARRY CLASS
This 8-hour class will meet the handgun safety training requirement for an Oregon Concealed Handgun License per ORS 161; THIS CLASS IS FOR BOTH OREGON RESIDENTS AND NON-RESIDENTS. This class includes classroom instruction as well as a live-fire session on our range!
Our instructors are qualified to issue training certificates meeting the requirements for Florida Non-Resident Concealed Weapon or Firearm License applicants. This option is made available to students who have successfully completed our Intro to CHL (Oregon) class for an additional fee, and includes an additional Certificate of Completion as well as all the materials you will need to complete the Florida application process by mail!
Florida Non-Resident Concealed Weapon Licenses are honored by 33 States as compaired to 30 states honoring the Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit.

*** JUST ADDED *** STREET CARRY
This course is for persons who have already successfully completed INTRO TO OREGON CONCEALED CARRY or NRA Basic Pistol and desiring supplementary handgun training to increase their level of knowledge, safety and proficiency. This class includes instruction in the areas of drawing and re-holstering, taking and maintaining control of a situation, reloading efficiently under pressure, shooting with a flashlight, situational awareness, and recommendations for concealed carry methods / accessories. This is an all day class with 60% of the instruction on the range. Be prepared to shoot up to 150 rounds!

NRA BASIC PISTOL FOR WOMEN
This class is intended for women desiring initial training in the safe use of handguns; this class is also intended for women seeking to meet the training requirements set forth in Oregon Revised Statues Section 166 for an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. No previous experience with firearms is required. This session is for women only!
At the conclusion of this training, students should be able to understand the basic safe operation of a revolver and semi-automatic pistol; ammunition requirements, the essentials of marksmanship, firearms storage, care & cleaning. Also included is an introduction to applicable Oregon firearms laws relating to concealed carry, the license application process and how to carry legally, safely and discreetly. The class finishes with a live-fire practice session on the range. This class is taught by NRA-certified pistol instructors.
This class includes a working lunch session; students may either bring a lunch or order from one of the local restaurants (delivery service to classroom provided).

DEFENSIVE PISTOL I

This 3.5-hour class is taught entirely on our pistol range. Plan on shooting 100 rounds! There are very specific equipment requirements for this class so please read the description carefully. This class does not satisfy the training requirements for an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. Attendees must already have attended our Intro to Oregon CHL class OR possess an Oregon CHL (or WA CPL) and have instructor permission to register . Thus is a fast-paced class that covers the elements of drawing from concealed carry, shooting from cover and shooting while moving.
PRIVATE LESSONS—BASIC TO ADVANCED PISTOL, STREET CARRY, DEFENSIVE PISTOL, FIREARMS SAFETY, CHL...
Basic handgun safety, intermediate/advanced handgun skills and training for the Oregon Concealed Handgun License are all available as private lessons for those with obligations that do not permit attending the regularly scheduled classes.

OREGON HUNTER SAFETY

Always in demand, the Oregon Hunter Safety Class is a requirement for big game tags in Oregon. This class is taught by our staff of Oregon Hunter Safety Instructors and is always well-attended.
HUNTER SAFETY CLASSES ARE HELD IN MAY AND SEPTEMBER EACH YEAR, WITH SEVERAL INTERNET COURSE COMPLETION DAYS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR (if you took the Hunter Safety Course online and need the 1-day Practical Session for completion).
This is a week-long class, 6-8:30PM Monday-Friday, with the practical exam on Saturday morning. You must attend all 5 nights of this class plus pass the written and practical exams to receive your Hunter Safety card.
Signups for Hunter Safety will be held at Sporty’s in Clatskanie, Oregon. For more information contact Arnold Cork at (503)395-2668 Ext 3907.
