THIS 8-HOUR CLASS MEETS THE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS OF OREGON REVISED STATUTES SECTION 166 FOR CHL (CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE) APPLICANTS. ATTENDEES WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THIS COURSE WILL RECEIVE A TRAINING CERTIFICATE SHOWING PROOF OF HANDGUN SAFETY TRAINING.

This class includes: LECTURE ON THE WORKINGS OF FIREARMS & AMMUNITION HANDS-ON/LIVE FIRE SAFETY TRAINING INFORMATION ON APPLICABLE OREGON FIREARMS LAWS EXPLANATION OF THE CHL APPLICATION PROCESS HOW TO APPLY IF YOU ARE A NON-RESIDENT INSTRUCTION IN SECURE, DISCREET CONCEALED CARRY LIVE-FIRE PRACTICE SESSION ON THE RANGE
FEES ARE $50 FOR CLATSKANIE RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING, $70/NON-MEMBERS; RESERVATIONS AND ADVANCE PAYMENT IS REQUIRED. CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN CLATSKANIE, OREGON. $10 surcharge for additional Florida endorsement (Florida license is honored in more states than the Utah license).

Course Duration, Location:
Approximately eight (8) hours; the class starts with lecture/hands-on safety training at the CRPC Education, Training & Range Complex at 74223 Conyers Creek Road, Clatskanie Oregon. The range/live-fire session will be conducted at the CRPC Range on Conyers Road after the classroom session.

Number of Attendees:
Minimum of four (4), maximum of sixteen (16) per session. Private lessons are available at a
different fee schedule; consult instructors for details. Prepayment is necessary to reserve a
seat. Classes may be rescheduled if an insufficient number of registrations are received.
Synopsis:
At the conclusion of this training, students should be able to understand the basic safe operation
of a revolver and semi-automatic pistol; ammunition requirements, introduction to applicable
Oregon firearms laws relating to concealed carry, the license application process and how to
carry legally, safely and discreetly. The class finishes with a live-fire practice session on the range
and a written examination. This class is taught by NRA-certified pistol instructors.
Materials:
Each attendee will be provided with a student kit that includes excerpts from ORS 166 regarding
Oregon firearms laws. Persons who successfully complete this training will be provided a
certificate showing proof of handgun safety training; this certificate is accepted by all Oregon
Sheriffs to satisfy the training competency requirement for an Oregon CHL.
Equipment:
Attendees should bring their handgun and a box (50 rounds) of commercially-produced
ammunition (no reloaded ammunition, please). If your pistol is a semi-auto bring at least two
magazines (if available); if you have a concealed-carry holster feel free to bring it as well. Eye
and ear protection are required for the range session.
If you do not have a firearm, please contact the instructor(s).
Do not bring your firearm into the classroom at the start of class; the instructors will let you know when the time is appropriate. This class is taught rain or shine. Remember to bring appropriate clothing for the live-fire session at the end of the day dress for the weather! Note: No open-toed shoes should be worn during the range session, and long pants are advised for your safety.
