NRA Basic Pistol For Women

This 8-hour class covers handgun operation, safety/security,
marksmanship and other additional information. This class also meets the
training requirements of Oregon Revised Statute Section 166 for Concealed
Handgun License Applicants.
THIS CLASS IS TAUGHT BY NRA-CERTIFIED PISTOL INSTRUCTORS This class includes: • LECTURE • HANDS-ON/LIVE FIRE SAFETY TRAINING • OPERATION OF REVOLVERS • OPERATION OF SEMI-AUTO PISTOLS • SIGHT ALIGNMENT, TRIGGER CONTROL • BREATH CONTROL, STANCE, PROPER GRIP • HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT AMMUNITION • CLEANING AND SAFELY STORING FIREARMS |
FEES ARE $60 for CRPC MEMBERS, $80/NON-MEMBERS. CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN CLATSKANIE, OREGON. THIS CLASS CONCENTRATES ON THE SAFE, ACCURATE OPERATION OF THE
FIREARM AND HAS MORE RANGE TIME THAN OUR INTRO TO CONCEALED CARRY CLASS. ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 12 APPLICANTS. ATTENDEES
SHOULD HAVE A PISTOL (CENTERFIRE OR RIMFIRE) AND AMMUNITION UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE IN ADVANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTORS; PLEASE SEE THE COURSE DESCRIPTION

Intended Audience:
Women desiring initial training in the safe use of handguns; this class is also intended for women seeking to meet the training requirements set forth in Oregon Revised Statues Section 166 for an Oregon
Concealed Handgun License. No previous experience with firearms is required. This session is for women only, but the NRA Basic Pistol Class may be offered as an open-enrollment class to both
genders throughout the year as needs dictate.
Course Duration, Location:
Approximately eight (8) hours; the class starts with lecture/hands-on safety training at the Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club’s Education, Training & Range Complex at 74223 Conyers Creek Road,
Clatskanie, Oregon at 8AM Saturday, June 5th, 2010. The range/live-fire session will also be conducted at the CRPC Range following the classroom session. It is recommended that you show up a little early to fill
out some paperwork. A “working lunch” is planned and take-out menus from local restaurants will be available for your convenience – you may order your lunch at the start of class and it will be delivered to
the classroom, or you may bring you own lunch.

Number of Attendees:
Minimum of four (4), maximum of sixteen (16) per session. Private lessons are available at a different fee schedule; consult instructors for details.
Synopsis:
At the conclusion of this training, students should be able to understand the basic safe operation of a revolver and semi-automatic pistol; ammunition requirements, the essentials of marksmanship, firearms
storage, care & cleaning. Also included is an introduction to applicable Oregon firearms laws relating to concealed carry, the license application process and how to carry legally, safely and discreetly. The class
finishes with a live-fire practice session on the range. This class is taught by NRA-certified pistol instructors.
Materials:
Each attendee will receive an NRA Basic Pistol packet with an instructional text and other NRA instructional materials. Each attendee will also be provided with excerpts from ORS 166 regarding
Oregon firearms laws. Persons who successfully complete this training will be provided a certificate showing proof of training.
Equipment:
Attendees should bring their handgun and a minimum of 50 rounds of commercially-produced ammunition (no reloaded ammunition, please). If you have a concealed-carry holster feel free to bring it as well. Eye
and ear protection are required for the range session and will be provided if necessary. If you have prescription glasses, you may wear these in leiu of safety glasses. Please dress for the weather, as a
portion of this class is conducted outdoors; no shorts or open-toed shoes are permitted. Bring a pen or pencil for taking notes.

$60 for Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club members in good standing; $80 for non-members. Payment is
